[War Thunder] Controller drift — which brands held up for you?

Low stakes question, but it has been bugging me for weeks. The community consensus seems to have shifted twice since I last played.

Low stakes question, but it has been bugging me for weeks. The community consensus seems to have shifted twice since I last played.

What actually changed my results was slowing down and reading the tooltips properly instead of rushing. Interested in the counter-argument if there is one.

Had the exact same issue. the community guide covers this better than I can, but the summary is to prioritise the basics first.

Adding to the above: measure before and after, otherwise you are just guessing whether it helped.

Worth checking first: it depends heavily on your specific setup, so take any single number with a grain of salt.

Agreed on most of this, except do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

Others may have a cleaner method.

Worth checking first: nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect.

This comes up a lot, so: ignore the loudest advice; the boring answer is usually the correct one here.

Let us know which part worked.

Worth checking first: give it a clean reinstall before assuming the hardware is at fault.

In my testing, that behaviour is intentional, even though it is poorly explained in-game.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.

Slightly different take — check whether an overlay is running before blaming the game itself.

Short version: do the cheap diagnostic first — it costs nothing and rules out half the causes.

Same boat here. the averages hide the problem; look at the one percent lows instead.

Worth checking first: you get most of the benefit from the first adjustment; everything after that is marginal.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.

For what it is worth, the trick is to change one thing at a time and actually note the result before touching anything else.

That fixed it for me, at least.

Only partly related, but do the cheap diagnostic first — it costs nothing and rules out half the causes.

That fixed it for me, at least.

From experience, you get most of the benefit from the first adjustment; everything after that is marginal.

This is the bit people miss — if it only happens in one mode, that narrows it down considerably.

Depends on your setup, but broadly the averages hide the problem; look at the one percent lows instead.
