   Not a complaint, just genuinely puzzled by the behaviour. The in-game explanation and the actual behaviour do not appear to match.

   The patch notes hinted at this but never actually spelled it out. Hopefully this saves someone else the afternoon it cost me.

   Quick correction to the above: do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

   The usual fix here is it is almost always a setting rather than hardware, so try the free fixes before spending anything.

    Agreed on most of this, except the wiki number is theoretical; real results are always a bit lower.

    Others may have a cleaner method.

    I went through this last month. this changed for me after the last patch, so older threads may steer you wrong.

    Agreed on most of this, except give it a clean reinstall before assuming the hardware is at fault.

    Quick correction to the above: the defaults are conservative on purpose, so there is usually headroom to gain.

    That fixed it for me, at least.
