Is the summer event worth grinding?

I searched first and found three threads that all contradict each other. I assumed it was a known issue, but I cannot find anyone else describing it.

The community consensus seems to have shifted twice since I last played. Curious whether that matches what everyone else is seeing.

From experience, nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect.

This is the bit people miss — verify the files before anything else; it catches more problems than people expect.
