   Quick one for the people who have put more hours into this than me. It seems to depend heavily on region, which nobody mentions anywhere.

   Turning one setting down fixed it, which raises more questions than it answers. Will update the post if I find a cleaner solution.

   Depends on your setup, but broadly give it a clean reinstall before assuming the hardware is at fault.

   Worth a shot before anything drastic.

    I went through this last month. do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

    Agreed on most of this, except nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect.
