Would you recommend Genshin Impact to a total beginner?

Adding my findings in case they help someone. The difference only becomes obvious once you look at the frame times rather than the average.

Adding my findings in case they help someone. The difference only becomes obvious once you look at the frame times rather than the average.

The in-game explanation and the actual behaviour do not appear to match. I can post logs or screenshots if that would make this easier to diagnose.

In my testing, ignore the loudest advice; the boring answer is usually the correct one here.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.

Depends on your setup, but broadly nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect.

This comes up a lot, so: this changed for me after the last patch, so older threads may steer you wrong.

Report back once you have tried it.

Counterpoint: worth testing on a second account to rule out something profile-specific.

Quick correction to the above: if it only happens in one mode, that narrows it down considerably.

Not the answer you want, but you get most of the benefit from the first adjustment; everything after that is marginal.

That fixed it for me, at least.

This is the bit people miss — the community guide covers this better than I can, but the summary is to prioritise the basics first.

Same boat here. nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect.

Quick correction to the above: it depends heavily on your specific setup, so take any single number with a grain of salt.

From experience, the trick is to change one thing at a time and actually note the result before touching anything else.

Agreed on most of this, except the averages hide the problem; look at the one percent lows instead.

This comes up a lot, so: do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

Had the exact same issue. nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect.

From experience, temperature is the usual culprit when performance degrades over a session.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.

Depends on your setup, but broadly measure before and after, otherwise you are just guessing whether it helped.

Report back once you have tried it.

Speaking as someone who got it wrong initially, temperature is the usual culprit when performance degrades over a session.
