What actually makes a good starter

A strong starting character is usually the one with reliable utility rather than the highest damage number. Healing, cleansing and turn-meter control stay useful across every mode, while pure damage dealers get replaced as your roster grows.

Look at the ability description, not the rarity badge. A common character with an area debuff can carry your account further than a rare one whose kit only works in a narrow situation.

  • Prefer utility and survivability over burst damage.
  • Check whether abilities scale with your gear or with rarity.
  • Avoid investing in characters locked to one game mode.

A simple evaluation checklist

Ask three questions before committing resources: does this character help every team, does the kit work without specific gear, and can it be replaced easily later? If the answer to the last question is yes, invest lightly.
