Faction wars roster help — veteran perspective

Two of us tried the same thing and got different results, hence the thread. The numbers look fine on paper, but it feels noticeably worse in practice.

The difference only becomes obvious once you look at the frame times rather than the average. Any pointers appreciated, even partial ones.

Speaking as someone who got it wrong initially, the trick is to change one thing at a time and actually note the result before touching anything else.

Quick correction to the above: give it a clean reinstall before assuming the hardware is at fault.

This is the bit people miss — give it a clean reinstall before assuming the hardware is at fault.

The usual fix here is it depends heavily on your specific setup, so take any single number with a grain of salt.

Report back once you have tried it.

Agreed on most of this, except nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect.

This is the bit people miss — check whether an overlay is running before blaming the game itself.

I went through this last month. temperature is the usual culprit when performance degrades over a session.

In my testing, it depends heavily on your specific setup, so take any single number with a grain of salt.

In my testing, verify the files before anything else; it catches more problems than people expect.

Good luck, it is a common snag.

Adding to the above: ignore the loudest advice; the boring answer is usually the correct one here.

That fixed it for me, at least.

For what it is worth, it is almost always a setting rather than hardware, so try the free fixes before spending anything.
