Hoping someone can sanity-check my reasoning before I commit to it. The difference only becomes obvious once you look at the frame times rather than the average.

I assumed it was a known issue, but I cannot find anyone else describing it. Any pointers appreciated, even partial ones.

Slightly different take — measure before and after, otherwise you are just guessing whether it helped.

This is the bit people miss — check whether an overlay is running before blaming the game itself.
That fixed it for me, at least.

Slightly different take — it is almost always a setting rather than hardware, so try the free fixes before spending anything.

From experience, check whether an overlay is running before blaming the game itself.

Speaking as someone who got it wrong initially, give it a clean reinstall before assuming the hardware is at fault.
