[Zenless Zone Zero] Region-locked codes — is there a workaround?

Adding my findings in case they help someone. It seems to depend heavily on region, which nobody mentions anywhere.

Once it clicked, it felt obvious, but getting there took far longer than it should have. Happy to be told I am overthinking it.
