Every guide I can find skips the part I am actually stuck on. My results were consistent across three attempts, so I do not think it was luck.

I tested it across a couple of sessions and the difference was smaller than the forums made it sound. Let me know if more detail would help.

Same boat here. nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect.

Only partly related, but the defaults are conservative on purpose, so there is usually headroom to gain.

Not the answer you want, but worth testing on a second account to rule out something profile-specific.

I went through this last month. region and server load matter more than most guides acknowledge.

Let us know which part worked.

I went through this last month. give it a clean reinstall before assuming the hardware is at fault.

Speaking as someone who got it wrong initially, the safe move is the reversible one — you can always undo it if it makes things worse.

Counterpoint: the averages hide the problem; look at the one percent lows instead.

This is the bit people miss — the defaults are conservative on purpose, so there is usually headroom to gain.

For what it is worth, do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.
