Been chewing on this for a while, so I figured I would ask here. The thing that keeps tripping me up is that everyone assumes you already know the basics, and the wiki is out of date.

    Been chewing on this for a while, so I figured I would ask here. The thing that keeps tripping me up is that everyone assumes you already know the basics, and the wiki is out of date.

    I can post logs or screenshots if that would make this easier to diagnose.

    Short version: the trick is to change one thing at a time and actually note the result before touching anything else.

    Had the exact same issue. the averages hide the problem; look at the one percent lows instead.

    In my testing, this changed for me after the last patch, so older threads may steer you wrong.

    Not the answer you want, but if it only happens in one mode, that narrows it down considerably.

    Slightly different take — do the cheap diagnostic first — it costs nothing and rules out half the causes.
