Neverness to Everness

Controller versus mouse and keyboard for the driving sections

Bit of a niche question, but this seems like the right crowd for it. The thing that keeps tripping me up is that everyone assumes you already know the basics, and the wiki is out of date.

Bit of a niche question, but this seems like the right crowd for it. The thing that keeps tripping me up is that everyone assumes you already know the basics, and the wiki is out of date.

It behaves as expected on one account and not on another, same device. Any pointers appreciated, even partial ones.

Same boat here. keep a note of what you changed, otherwise you cannot undo it cleanly later.

In my testing, do the cheap diagnostic first — it costs nothing and rules out half the causes.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.

Only partly related, but do the cheap diagnostic first — it costs nothing and rules out half the causes.

Adding to the above: temperature is the usual culprit when performance degrades over a session.

Only partly related, but the community guide covers this better than I can, but the summary is to prioritise the basics first.

That fixed it for me, at least.

I went through this last month. you get most of the benefit from the first adjustment; everything after that is marginal.

Adding to the above: worth testing on a second account to rule out something profile-specific.

I went through this last month. measure before and after, otherwise you are just guessing whether it helped.

Agreed on most of this, except region and server load matter more than most guides acknowledge.

Let us know which part worked.

Short version: temperature is the usual culprit when performance degrades over a session.

Agreed on most of this, except the safe move is the reversible one — you can always undo it if it makes things worse.

Good luck, it is a common snag.

Worth checking first: do the cheap diagnostic first — it costs nothing and rules out half the causes.

Others may have a cleaner method.

Had the exact same issue. do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

That fixed it for me, at least.

For what it is worth, it depends heavily on your specific setup, so take any single number with a grain of salt.

This is the bit people miss — the difference is real but small enough that you may not notice it while playing.

Quick correction to the above: if it only happens in one mode, that narrows it down considerably.

Good luck, it is a common snag.

Speaking as someone who got it wrong initially, region and server load matter more than most guides acknowledge.
