I want to get ahead of this before it becomes a habit. What actually changed my results was slowing down and reading the tooltips properly instead of rushing.

Rolling back to the previous version made the problem disappear entirely. If someone has a link to a proper explanation, I will take it.

Same boat here. ignore the loudest advice; the boring answer is usually the correct one here.

Had the exact same issue. measure before and after, otherwise you are just guessing whether it helped.

Others may have a cleaner method.

Short version: worth testing on a second account to rule out something profile-specific.

That fixed it for me, at least.

Not the answer you want, but the wiki number is theoretical; real results are always a bit lower.

Good luck, it is a common snag.

Only partly related, but keep a note of what you changed, otherwise you cannot undo it cleanly later.

This comes up a lot, so: this changed for me after the last patch, so older threads may steer you wrong.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.

Depends on your setup, but broadly verify the files before anything else; it catches more problems than people expect.

This is the bit people miss — do the cheap diagnostic first — it costs nothing and rules out half the causes.

Worth checking first: do the cheap diagnostic first — it costs nothing and rules out half the causes.

The usual fix here is you get most of the benefit from the first adjustment; everything after that is marginal.
