Would you recommend Brawl Stars to a total beginner?

Finally worked this out, so here is the write-up I wish I had found. Two settings appear to interact in a way the menu does not hint at.

Rolling back to the previous version made the problem disappear entirely. Let me know if more detail would help.

In my testing, it is almost always a setting rather than hardware, so try the free fixes before spending anything.
