   Adding my findings in case they help someone. What actually changed my results was slowing down and reading the tooltips properly instead of rushing.

   Hopefully this saves someone else the afternoon it cost me.

   Counterpoint: check whether an overlay is running before blaming the game itself.

   I went through this last month. it depends heavily on your specific setup, so take any single number with a grain of salt.

   Same boat here. the averages hide the problem; look at the one percent lows instead.

   That fixed it for me, at least.

   Quick correction to the above: the difference is real but small enough that you may not notice it while playing.

   Good luck, it is a common snag.

    This is the bit people miss — that behaviour is intentional, even though it is poorly explained in-game.

    From experience, the defaults are conservative on purpose, so there is usually headroom to gain.

    In my testing, if it only happens in one mode, that narrows it down considerably.
