Before you download
Update your graphics driver first. A large share of "the game will not launch" reports come down to a driver several versions behind the client build.
Check free space on the drive you plan to install to and leave headroom — most launchers need temporary space for patch files on top of the final install size.
- Update GPU drivers before the first launch.
- Leave 20-30% extra free space for patching.
- Install to an SSD when the game streams open-world assets.
When installation fails
If a download stalls repeatedly, pause it, restart the launcher and let it verify existing files instead of starting from zero. Corrupted partial downloads are the second most common cause of install failures.
Antivirus software can also lock files mid-write. Adding the game directory as an exclusion usually resolves repeated verification loops.
