[Warframe] Upgrading from a 1660 — what is the sensible jump?

Bit of a niche question, but this seems like the right crowd for it. Once it clicked, it felt obvious, but getting there took far longer than it should have.

The community consensus seems to have shifted twice since I last played. I can post logs or screenshots if that would make this easier to diagnose.
