What finally made Honkai: Star Rail click for you?

Adding my findings in case they help someone. The in-game explanation and the actual behaviour do not appear to match.

I tested it across a couple of sessions and the difference was smaller than the forums made it sound. I can post logs or screenshots if that would make this easier to diagnose.

Quick correction to the above: that behaviour is intentional, even though it is poorly explained in-game.

Adding to the above: the difference is real but small enough that you may not notice it while playing.

Worth checking first: the wiki number is theoretical; real results are always a bit lower.
