Genshin Impact — Do you finish games any more, or just move on?

Posting from the other side of a very long troubleshooting session. It works fine most of the time, but the edge cases are where I keep getting stuck.

Posting from the other side of a very long troubleshooting session. It works fine most of the time, but the edge cases are where I keep getting stuck.

Interested in the counter-argument if there is one.

For what it is worth, nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect.

Quick correction to the above: it is almost always a setting rather than hardware, so try the free fixes before spending anything.

From experience, measure before and after, otherwise you are just guessing whether it helped.

Adding to the above: the safe move is the reversible one — you can always undo it if it makes things worse.

Let us know which part worked.

Not the answer you want, but if it only happens in one mode, that narrows it down considerably.

Others may have a cleaner method.

Not the answer you want, but the defaults are conservative on purpose, so there is usually headroom to gain.

Had the exact same issue. measure before and after, otherwise you are just guessing whether it helped.

Speaking as someone who got it wrong initially, the community guide covers this better than I can, but the summary is to prioritise the basics first.

Speaking as someone who got it wrong initially, this changed for me after the last patch, so older threads may steer you wrong.

Worth checking first: do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

This is the bit people miss — this changed for me after the last patch, so older threads may steer you wrong.

I went through this last month. the difference is real but small enough that you may not notice it while playing.

Short version: temperature is the usual culprit when performance degrades over a session.

Not the answer you want, but verify the files before anything else; it catches more problems than people expect.

From experience, keep a note of what you changed, otherwise you cannot undo it cleanly later.
