First impressions of Genshin Impact

Coming back after a long break and trying to catch up. The patch notes hinted at this but never actually spelled it out.

Coming back after a long break and trying to catch up. The patch notes hinted at this but never actually spelled it out.

My results were consistent across three attempts, so I do not think it was luck. Hopefully this saves someone else the afternoon it cost me.

Same boat here. the defaults are conservative on purpose, so there is usually headroom to gain.

For what it is worth, this changed for me after the last patch, so older threads may steer you wrong.

This comes up a lot, so: you get most of the benefit from the first adjustment; everything after that is marginal.

Adding to the above: the community guide covers this better than I can, but the summary is to prioritise the basics first.

Had the exact same issue. if it only happens in one mode, that narrows it down considerably.

Had the exact same issue. region and server load matter more than most guides acknowledge.

The usual fix here is you get most of the benefit from the first adjustment; everything after that is marginal.

Counterpoint: keep a note of what you changed, otherwise you cannot undo it cleanly later.

The usual fix here is verify the files before anything else; it catches more problems than people expect.

Speaking as someone who got it wrong initially, nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect.

Agreed on most of this, except do the cheap diagnostic first — it costs nothing and rules out half the causes.

Worth checking first: the defaults are conservative on purpose, so there is usually headroom to gain.

That fixed it for me, at least.

Counterpoint: ignore the loudest advice; the boring answer is usually the correct one here.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.

In my testing, the averages hide the problem; look at the one percent lows instead.

Only partly related, but give it a clean reinstall before assuming the hardware is at fault.
